MobileDemand’s Key Takeaways from MODEX 2024
Another MODEX has come and gone – the largest ever! With three full exhibit halls and over 100 speaking seminars, we were definitely busy taking it all in. The MobileDemand team had an incredible week meeting with current clients and partners and showcasing our rugged mobility solutions in our booth and in our speaking seminar. Check out our top takeaways from the 4-day event below.
Dimensional Data is Lacking or Missing Entirely
A common frustration among attendees, ranging from aftermarket auto parts suppliers to e-commerce giants, was the inaccuracy or outright absence of dimensional data in their systems. Many faced challenges with receiving incorrect measurements from overseas vendors or lacked this crucial information entirely. This issue underscores the need for improved accuracy and availability of dimensional data across industries.
Mobile Solutions Are Must
Warehouse operators who visited our booth described the perils of relying on stationary solutions in their operations. From fixed dimensioning systems in the dusty corner of the warehouse, to immobile desktops in the office, workers need tools that travel with them – not the other way around. The modern warehouse demands tools that can keep up with the pace of their users, highlighting the importance of mobility in operational efficiency.
Our Partnerships Are Top Notch
We were thrilled to present with Joel Hagberg, Head of Product Management for Intel® RealSense™, during our seminar, “The Future of Dimensioning is Here: Discover How AI-Powered Mobile Dimensioning Boosts Operational Productivity by Enabling Dimensioning Anywhere”. Attendees nodded in agreement as we discussed common struggles in supply chains relating to dimensions. Didn’t make it to the seminar? Watch the seminar here.
Visitors were also curious about the wearable scanners our team was wearing. The multi-range, hand-free scanners from ProGlove easily pairs with MobileDemand devices for greater flexibility and time savings across operational workflows.
Now’s The Time for Change
The aftermath of the pandemic has left many warehouses in a state of perpetual crisis management, with little focus on technological advancements or operational improvements. However, conversations at our booth revealed a growing enthusiasm among attendees to explore and adopt new solutions aimed at enhancing operational throughput, reducing picking times, and boosting overall efficiency.
