MobileDemand was excited to attend the 2024 Parcel Forum, held from September 16-18 at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. The event attracted over 1,700 attendees and featured 173 exhibitors, including MobileDemand. Representing the company were Matt Miller, Peter Seele and Scott Medford, who shared their expertise and introduced attendees to our advanced AI-powered xDIM mobile dimensioning system.
Streamlining the Parcel Process with xDIM
At the event, we demonstrated how xDIM helps streamline parcel management by providing precise dimensions, portable weighing and photo documentation. Our live demos generated a lot of buzz, with Scott Medford recalling, “One attendee watched as we used xDIM to measure a screwdriver and mentioned that, out of all the booths he visited, ours was the only one offering such quick and accurate measurements, not just for standard boxes, but for irregular objects as well.” This is particularly valuable for companies handling items like odd-shaped parts or tools, where traditional measuring systems fall short.
Addressing Last-Mile Delivery Challenges
Last-mile delivery was a hot topic among attendees, given its crucial role in customer satisfaction and overall efficiency within the parcel industry. Our team discussed how xDIM enhances last-mile operations by improving accuracy, speeding up processes and seamlessly integrating with existing systems. For example, with xDIM, companies can automatically calculate parcel dimensions, helping drivers optimize truck space and routes. These capabilities lead to fewer errors and greater flexibility, allowing companies to better manage their last-mile delivery challenges.
Reducing Costs and Improving Efficiency with xDIM
Shipping, chargebacks and packaging costs were top of mind for many attendees, who were looking for ways to reduce expenses and minimize material waste. With xDIM, we were able to show firsthand how our technology helps cut costs by ensuring accurate product dimensions. Booth visitors saw how xDIM provides real-time data that improves logistics management, shortens delivery times and reduces material waste. A prime example: configuring dimensions for all items in a box helps determine the optimal master box size, enabling a single trip for delivery rather than multiple trips.
A Successful Event and New Opportunities
Reflecting on the event, Matt Miller said, "We were thrilled with the turnout this year and the opportunity to connect with several potential partners. We’re excited to see where these relationships take us in the near future."
